Tips on Installing Your Stainless Steel Fountain
More and more people are choosing to install water fountains in their homes and in their offices. These fountains create a soothing haven from the stress of the everyday world and can add a decorative touch of style to any environment. Slate fountains can bring a bit of nature into an office building and a modern steel fountain can give that modern edge to a living room or art gallery. Of course, before you can enjoy your new fountain, you have to put it together. Installing your water fountain may sound intimidating but with the right tools and a quick read through the manual it can be a painless process with a great reward at the end—your very own fountain. All it takes is a little pre-planning.
First, you need to decide where you are going to be installing your new fountain. Important factors to take into consideration here are whether it is a wall-mounted fountain as opposed to a freestanding floor model, will the model you have chosen for you space have much danger of splashing, and if so is it near surfaces that could be damaged by water spills or become dangerous? Are there places in the room, whether they are on the floor or on the walls, where the placement of a fountain might make it difficult to walk or become dangerous if someone is not paying attention to where they are going? All of these are things you will need to figure out before you ever pick up a screwdriver.
Insure proper installation with a quality bracket
Wall fountains are usually fairly quick to set up and to install. Always make sure you are conscious of weight issues though, as a glass water fountain can be very heavy, especially when filled, and you want to make sure you are attaching it to something capable of holding up the weight. If you have a particularly heavy fountain, you may want to get some help for the installation due to the weight. Getting dropped is not particularly good for anything, water fountains of course being no exception.
To begin with, you are going to need a few basic tools. You will need a level, a hammer, wall anchors (which should be available in your local hardware store if they were not already included in the box with your new water fountain), a sharp pencil, some Phillips head screwdrivers (also probably included with your fountain) and a properly sized screwdriver, also Phillips head.
Be prepared.
When you are preparing to install your fountain, the most important thing is to always, always read all of the directions before you begin. The process of instillation for all fountains is often different, and unless you already know what you are doing you can end up on the floor frustrated, surrounded by hardware and pieces of pumps and tubing instead of sitting by your new fountain enjoying the relaxing sights and sounds it can provide.
