Why a table top fountain?

Table top fountains are a wonderful way to add some life and relaxation to any room. The sound of lightly running water can provide a sense of serenity. Because of this, they are great additions to an office or home. Some can also be put on outdoor tables. They can help you keep a sense of calm in your day.

Tabletop/desktop water fountains can go just about anywhere. All they need is a small flat surface to sit on and a power source. Assembly is rarely needed; you just plug them in and let them go. One nice thing about table top fountains is that they take very little maintenance.

A style to fit your home is available.

There are many styles of tabletop and desk top fountains, and there is a size and model to fit any taste. Many models are very simple, with just a couple tiers of stone or metal allowing water to trickle into the base. Others are very artistic, looking like sculptures or having shapes like pitchers or perfect spheres. Some come with rocks that can be arranged, or little spaces to put houseplants. You can pick ones that are very tall and make more splashing noises, or short ones that are very quiet. The bottom line is that no matter what kind of fountain you want, there is one out there for you.

Fountains do have a couple maintenance issues that need to be kept in mind, but if these things are taken care of on a regular basis, you should have very few problems with your tabletop fountain. When you first get your fountain, make sure you take a damp cloth or sponge to the fountain, removing factory dust and any other debris. If that stuff gets sucked into the pump, it will clog it. Read all the instructions regarding your fountain before you turn it on. Some do not recommend using tap water or outdoor water. Using distilled or bottled water can help reduce mineral deposits, which will ruin your desk top water fountain’s pump. Also check to see if your fountain has any screens or filters that will need to be cleaned periodically. If your fountain starts smelling odd, make sure to clean it right away, because this is a tell-tale sign that you may soon have algae in your fountain.

Routine Maintainence ensures a long life.

Check your table top fountain’s water level every day. You don’t want to overfill it, because this can lead to a watery mess, but you certainly don’t want it to run dry. If the water level gets too low or runs dry, it can seriously damage the pump. Water evaporates, sometimes rather quickly, so just give your fountain a quick check every day. It is generally recommended that you completely empty your desk top water fountain once a year and give it a thorough cleaning. If you keep your fountain outside on a balcony or patio, drain it and store it during the cold winter months. Freezing can break the pump.

Tabletop fountains are a great addition to an office, home, or patio. They can bring serenity into a space and help keep tension from building up. They are easy to set up and easy to maintain. With just a little regular care, your table top fountain will last for many years.
