In the first place, think about the wood that you are going to be using. There are a number of different woods that are going to be available for you when you are thinking about building your own guitar, so consider some of your options. For instance, close grained spruce and Brazilian rosewood guitar and do fairly well, as does mahogany. Other guitars do very well in Californian redwood. Consider what your options are going to be, especially when you are thinking about the bridge, which should always be rosewood or ebony. Look for a hardwood that will last and that will not get dented up as you change the strings.

When you are looking at the wood selections, this means that you are going to be creating the guitar yourself, from scratch. If you are concerned about the idea of being able to do that much woodworking, remember that you should also consider how you can proceed by simply putting together parts from a kit. When you are selecting the different parts for your guitar, there are going to be a lot of different selections for you to make. The body will come in different shapes and different types of wood, so make sure that you try out a number of different body shapes before you move forward. Similarly, when you are looking at getting started with the neck, consider the profile and the shape of the back of the neck. This means that you need one that fits your hands very well.

If you are thinking about building your own guitar, take some time and look into what your options are going to be. Think about how much time you have to devote to it and what kind of skills and area you have to work with. This is something that can make a huge difference to your result. If you do not have much experience in this realm, you will find that it can be a much better idea simply to look into how you are going to be able to find a kit that suits you.

If you are ready to make sure that you are going to be able to have a guitar that is perfect for you, you are going to find that there are many different options available. Decide on wood, and investment, and also think about how well a kit might help you!

Used Acoustic Gui -

I totally agree with you, building my own guitar is something of a lifelong dream... so far, I've only been an "apprentice" to guitar makers, haven't done one on my own yet.
